The Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall, built in memory of Mr. Sun Yat-sen with funds contributed by Guangzhou people and overseas Chinese, has become the premier landmark building of Guangzhou.

Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall Wood Sculptures depict two auspicious dragons standing on oval plates. In the middle of the sculpture are a replica of the Sun Yat-sen's memorial hall and a statue of Sun Yat-sen. The entire sculpture is simple, clear and highly representative.

Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King Key Rings          Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King

Reason for Recommendation: Delicate, exquisite, and convenient to carry around. 

In 1983, the mausoleum of King Zhao Mo of the Nanyue Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty was discovered in Guangzhou's Xianggang Mountain, and more than 1,000 sets or pieces of valuable artifacts were unearthed. The artifacts include bronze vessels and pottery typical of the southern Yue ethnic culture, as well as blue flat-panel glass and the world's first set of color printing bronze moulds, all of which are priceless treasures. The discovery of the mausoleum confirmed Guangzhou's status as the political, economic and culture center of the Lingnan region more than 2,100 years ago. The mausoleum is the earliest and largest early-Han-dynasty tomb with the most funeral objects ever found in the Lingnan region.

Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King Key Rings, themed around the culture of the Nanyue Kingdom, depict a dancing dragon surrounded by auspicious clouds. Exuding a strong historic flavor and convenient to carry around, these key rings make great souvenirs.

A jade pedant, with an overall diameter of 10.6cm, an aperture diameter of 5.2cm and a thickness of 0.5cm, was unearthed from the Nanyue King's mausoleum at Xianggang in Guangzhou. It's now on display at the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King.

Baiyun Mountain is a national AAAA scenic area and a large-scale integrated scenic area for regulating the ecological environment, sightseeing, leisure and recreation, and catering. The mountain is ranked among Guangzhou's new top eight sights in the new century, dubbed "the No. 1 Scenic Area of Guangzhou". Its highest point is Moxing Ridge, rising 382 meters above sea level.

Baiyun Mountain White Jade Seals are made of white jade and bears the inscription of the three Chinese characters for "Baiyun Mountain" in black ink. They are gentle and classical, popular among tourists.

The Huangpu Military Academy, standing on Changzhou Island at Huangpu, was the first brand-new military school co-built by Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China. The academy was the cradle for nurturing military and politic talent during the period of the first cooperation between Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China, occupying an important position in China's early modern history and military history.
