The IV Brazilian Film Festival in China will open on October 20th in Shenzhen and 21st in Guangzhou with 8 brilliant productions, and it will run until October 31 in these two cities. You are able to enjoy a selection of some of the best Brazilian films during the film festival, let’s have a look!

Through Ernesto's Eyes (2019)

The film tells the story of Ernesto, a 78-year-old photographer who faces the limitations of old age, such as loneliness and growing blindness. When Bia, a careless dog sitter, storms into his life, he realizes that aging can be about rejuvenating and that life and love are possible.

Amaz?nia Groove (2018)

This is a documentary related to music, showing the beauty of the Amazonian Region and the richness of the traditions, faith and rhythms of its local inhabitants.

Dom Salvador & Abolition (2020)  

This film is a documentary about the musician Dom Salvador, who moved to New York at the peak of his career and has been playing in a Brooklyn restaurant for four decades. Through the eyes of the protagonist, the audience can enjoy an immersive musical journey.

Three Summers (2019)

This is a comedy that tells the story of how a caretaker for a luxury compound in Rio de Janeiro relies on her resourcefulness and her eye for opportunity to take advantage of whatever comes her way as her employers are caught in major corruption scandals.

Maria do Caritó (2020)

This film tells the story of Maria, a middle-aged woman who is desperate to find a husband and ends up discovering the beauty and the strength of being in charge of her own life.

Burning Night (2020)

This edgy and impressionistic film chronicles of the nocturnal encounters of a Rio cab driver. It vividly captures the strange unpredictability of a rapidly changing world.

All the Dead Ones (2020)

The story is set in 1899, when the slavery had recently been abolished in Brazil. After the death of their last housemaid, the three women of the Soares family are at a loss in the rapidly expanding city of S?o Paulo. The family, which once owned coffee plantations, is now on the brink of ruin and struggling to adapt.
