From late February to early March, Guangzhou's cultural and artistic stages will continue to dazzle with a variety of performances, including poetic dances, piano recitals, and classic British musicals, bringing audiences a feast for both the eyes and the soul. Here are some recommendations. 

Chinese dance drama "Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting"

The poetic dance drama The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting is about to celebrate its 700th performance at the Guangzhou Opera House from February 26 to March 2, 2025. 

To date, the production has been staged nearly 700 times in over 70 cities worldwide, attracting more than 1.2 million people. It has toured countries such as Singapore, Türkiye, Russia, and the United States, and has won prestigious awards including the 17th Wenhua Award (the highest government accolade for stage art in China). 

To commemorate the 700-performance milestone of the global tour of The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting, Guangzhou Opera House will host a series of themed events, including a dance workshop, a meet-and-greet, and an autograph signing session with the cast.

Music Happy Hours on Wednesday

Ludwig van Beethoven's string quartets are a vital part of his musical legacy, showcasing his compositional genius and reflecting his inner emotional world and spiritual pursuits. To celebrate the 255th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, the string quartet artists of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra will use their instruments to perform his iconic works.

International award winners series—George Li in Recital

George Li has been praised by The Washington Post for his "stunning technique, thunderous power, and profound musicality". Piano educator Gary Graffman also said that he "has an unlimited future". Li now returns to the Xinghai Concert Hall with a recital featuring Beethoven's "Tempest" and "Moonlight" Sonatas, Debussy's Images, and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Large immersive parent-child interactive magic show, Frozen: Elsa's Magical Feast

This production will transform the stage into a snowy wonderland by making full use of stage machinery and lighting effects. To build a fairy-tale-like world, screen special effects and 1:1-scale puppets of Olaf and reindeer are applied in the live-action performance, making the characters more vivid. The stage scenes reproduce the classic scenarios, and the characters will walk off stage to interact closely with children, giving the audience an immersive experience.
