The iconic "Top Eight Sights of Guangzhou" has now been given official English names, following a comprehensive expert-led review aimed at enhancing the city's global cultural presence.
The project, led by Guangzhou Daily Global, involved a three-week consultation process with translators, cultural scholars, and government consultants to finalize authoritative and culturally resonant English names for the 2025 selection of Guangzhou's scenic landmarks.
The newly adopted English names are as follows:
Canton Tower Gracing Flower City (塔映花城)
Baiyun Mountain amid Green Gardens (云山疊翠)
Yuexiu's Eternal Charm (越秀風華)
Liwan's Riverside Essence (荔灣勝境)
Nansha's Rising Sun Radiance (南沙旭日)
Huangpu's Wave-Braving Legacy (黃埔云帆)
Chimelong's Realm of Joy (歡樂長隆)
Liuxi's Mist-Clad Sanctuary (流溪煙渚)
