2024 UK-Guangzhou Business Dialogue held in Guangzhou
        Update: 2024-09-05     Source: eguangzhou.gov.cn

The 2024 UK-Guangzhou Business Dialogue, organized by the Guangzhou municipal commerce bureau, the China-Britain Business Council, the municipal government of Haizhu district, and Guangzhou Public Transport Group, was held on Aug 29.

The British Ambassador to China Geraldine McCafferty, Sarah Mann, the British consul general in Guangzhou, and Peter Burnett, the president of the China-Britain Business Council, along with over 100 guests, including corporate leaders from UK companies such as Savills, KPMG, and Unilever, as well as representatives from Chinese government departments, enterprises, and institutions, participated in the event.

McCafferty emphasized that Guangzhou, renowned as a global hub for trade, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, and innovation, serves as a catalyst for the UK-China relationship. British envoys throughout China are committed to actively supporting and facilitating exchanges to enhance cooperation opportunities.

During the Q&A session, British enterprises focused on key issues such as the development of the low-altitude economy in Guangzhou, the positioning and expectations of British enterprises within the new investment promotion system, strategies to address technological advancements and business opportunities arising from global aviation emission reduction initiatives, and promoting international cooperation to drive progress in carbon reduction efforts. Each enterprise provided precise responses to these questions, engaging in lively on-site exchanges with relevant departments, enterprises, and institutions.

British enterprises in attendance demonstrated a strong interest in Guangzhou's technology, low-carbon environmental protection efforts, and low-altitude economy, presenting innovative ideas and suggestions that warrant serious consideration by all departments in Guangzhou. The city will maintain its commitment to delivering high-quality services and support, while also anticipating that the China-Britain Business Council will help facilitate the implementation of more high-quality cooperation projects by British enterprises in Guangzhou.
