On August 11, the Guangzhou Fair (GZF) hosted its first promotional event in Beijing for its upcoming 33rd edition, set for August 22–24 at Halls A and B of the Canton Fair Complex. This year's fair will increase its exhibition scale by 50% compared to the previous session.
Key highlights include the Guangzhou New Quality Productive Forces Exhibition Zone, a debut Robot Performance Area, and the first-ever Guangzhou Consumption Assistance Exhibition. For the first time, the 11th International Invention Exhibition and the Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition will be held concurrently with the GZF in Guangzhou.
The 33rd GZF will feature four thematic exhibition zones: New Quality Productive Forces; the "High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns and Villages" Initiative and Rural Revitalization; Silver Economy and Healthcare; and Quality Living. These zones will showcase specialized exhibitions in areas such as innovation and invention, urban renewal, the automotive aftermarket, consumption assistance, packaging, elderly care, medical services, gifts and homeware, cultural IP, and arts and crafts.
Spanning approximately 180,000 square meters—a 50% increase from last year—the fair will introduce the Arts, Crafts, and Geographical Indications Excellence Exhibition and the first dedicated Guangzhou Consumption Assistance Exhibition, while also expanding several existing specialized exhibitions. Over 3,200 business associations and enterprises have been invited to participate as buyers.
This year's fair spotlights emerging industries, including artificial intelligence and robotics, intelligent connected and new energy vehicles, and the low-altitude economy and aerospace. The newly established Guangzhou New Quality Productive Forces Exhibition Zone will showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations in intelligent manufacturing. A standout feature, the debut Robot Performance Area, will bring together over 130 robots for an interactive and dynamic showcase.
The Domestic Cities Exhibition at this year's GZF will feature regional specialty products, cultural and tourism resources, and local business environments to promote cross-regional industrial collaboration and resource sharing. By connecting key national consumption assistance regions with Guangzhou's e-commerce platforms, the fair aims to modernize consumption assistance models and enhance the visibility of regional products in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market.
