Guangzhou announced the 2025 edition of its iconic "Top Eight Sights of Guangzhou" on August 3 during the 100-day countdown celebrations for the 15th National Games. The newly selected scenic clusters showcase the city's most treasured natural and cultural landmarks.

The selection process launched in April attracted overwhelming public engagement, with 13.79 million online votes cast during a five-day polling period in June. Participants selected their favorites from 71 candidate sites across the city, followed by evaluations from a 45-member expert panel assessing ecological value, cultural importance, and accessibility.

This year's chosen sites center around major landmarks of Guangzhou, including the Canton Tower area, the Baiyun Mountain zone, and the Chimelong Resort.
