On January 13, 2025, the 15th National Games entered its 300-day countdown. As the first National Games co-hosted by multiple regions, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao are making full preparations to welcome this grand event. Major venues in Guangzhou are undergoing renovation, and the mascots and cultural creative products for the National Games have also been unveiled.

With the countdown underway, licensed merchandise such as mascot plush toys and emblem fridge magnets have officially been launched for sale. The mascots for this National Games are a white mascot named Xi Yang Yang and a pink one named Le Rong Rong. Before the Spring Festival, 12,000 pieces of these mascots will hit the market.

To greet the National Games, the production team has also designed three fridge magnets marking the one-year countdown, the 300-day countdown, and the Spring Festival. Each design revolves around Lingnan cultural elements.

Guangzhou venues updated for the Games
Guangzhou venues, where the opening ceremony and many important competitions will take place, have undergone renovation. This year, the Guangdong Olympic Stadium will debut as the main venue for the 15th National Games, providing support for athletics, diving, and water polo sports. The renovation of the Guangdong Olympic Stadium will embody the concept of sustainable development and cultural traits of the Greater Bay Area.

The Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium, located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, has a history of over a thousand years. The renovation design incorporates the 750-meter Guangzhou central axis, forming a pathway connection with historical sites.

Yuexiushan Stadium is one of the first sports venues to complete renovation. In this year's 15th National Games, this famous football stadium will also serve as the venue for the women's football (U16) group matches. On January 15, Yuexiushan Stadium will debut as the venue for this year's Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup football competition, marking the first sporting event held at the renovated stadium.
