Recently, the first pile foundation of the reconstruction and expansion project TJ2 of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway Guangzhou Section in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, has been drilled, marking the commencement of the primary construction phase for the project.
Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway (Guangzhou Huocun to Dongguan Chang'an section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and Huangcun to Huocun section of Guangzhou-Foshan Expressway) is a crucial channel connecting Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. It is one of the busiest highways in China, known as the "Golden Corridor" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The first pile foundation drilled for this project is located in Yunpu Street, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, with a total length of about 14.278 kilometers. Yin Yu, the construction manager, stated that this project is among the first batch of major projects outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan, and that they will strictly control quality, adhere to safety measures and fully promote the project construction to ensure the achievement of annual goals.
Upon completion, this project will further enhance the interconnection between the transportation hubs in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan, increasing the flexibility of the road network transportation. It will contribute to the implementation of the national strategic plan for the construction of the GBA, strengthen the economic hub positioning of the GBA, and provide a strong underpinning for building a world-class transportation hub.
