Since April 2023, the upgrade and renovation project of Baoye Lu (寶業(yè)路), a popular night market street in Haizhu district, Guangzhou, has attracted significant attention from local residents. On January 28, the southern section of the upgraded Jiangnan cultural and commercial complex was capped, marking a new phase for the project.

Baoye Lu connects the Jiangnanxi business area and the Taikoo Warehouse business area, serving as a nostalgic late-night dining destination for generations of locals. The selection of shops aims to recreate the traditional flavors of Baoye Lu and become a new culinary and cultural landmark beloved by both old and new residents of Guangzhou.

The original Baoye Lu night market was characterized by traditional open-air food stalls and hot pot restaurants. The upgrade, revolving around the concept of urban greenery, focuses on six major areas: modern fusion dining, refined fast-casual dining brands, youthful tea beverages, sports and leisure experiences, trendy retail spaces, art exhibitions, and music performances.

The newly-constructed building boasts a unique design, featuring a youthful and trendy atmosphere and a vibrant outdoor street area suitable for leisure and dining and creating an outdoor gathering space.

The target audience for the complex includes local residents of Haizhu, lovers of Guangzhou's nightlife, the younger fashion-forward crowd, and tourists visiting Guangzhou from other regions.
